Thornton ProcessingThornton Processing Limited

Thornton Processing is an A & M Group majority shareholding subsidiary that specialises in the treatment of waste iodine-bearing streams and residues for the recovery and recycling of the iodine contained.

Suitable wastes are obtained from a variety of industries that use iodine in production or in their final products.  The recovered iodine is further processed into a range of iodine derivatives in the form of iodide solutions that are recycled back into the market as raw materials for the allied industries.  Resulting by-products after the iodine reclamation, are either returned to the suppliers for re-use or control-disposed of as ultimate waste.

A toll-conversion service of suppliers’ crude iodine to iodide solutions is offered.

The company is fully licensed by the Environment Agency as a treatment and transfer site for variety of chemical wastes.

Thornton Processing also offers sub-contract crushing, milling and sieving of lumpy materials such as dry cakes, compacts and minerals into grit and powder.

In-house laboratory facilities provide the means for control of in-coming materials, processing and final certification of products.
